Croatia Among Europe’s Top Camping Destinations

The Croatian National Tourist Board presented Croatia's tourism offer at the REISE + CAMPING fair in Essen, where Croatia was the Partner Country. The fair gathered 800 exhibitors and more than 80,000 visitors, with a special emphasis on promoting Croatian campsites. As part of the fair, awards were given to the highest-quality campsites, and meetings were held with key partners in the tourism industry.

The German market is one of the most important for Croatian tourism, with over 22 million overnight stays annually, of which 7.7 million are in campsites. Croatia is among the most popular camping destinations in Europe, and according to ADAC data, it ranks second in campsite quality and first in bathing water quality.

Karlovac County, with its riverside campsites and unspoiled nature, offers excellent conditions for camping enthusiasts, cyclists, and outdoor activity lovers. Campsites such as "Slapić," "Radonja," and "Korana" are recognized for their high-quality service and attractive locations, attracting guests from all over Europe.

The Tourist Board of Karlovac County continues to invest in the promotion and development of camping offerings and expects further growth in interest among guests from Germany and other European countries. Given the growing trend of sustainable tourism and the demand for nature-based destinations, camping in Karlovac County has great potential for further development.
