Karlovac is getting ready to step into the most magical time of the year - starting on 29 November, the city transforms into a dazzling holiday stage offering a rich program, numerous locations and events for all generations until New Year's Eve.

The beautifully decorated city centre, cultural institutions, promenades and historical landmarks once again become the backdrop for one of the region's most attractive winter events - Advent in Karlovac. The festive season officially begins with the lighting of the first Advent candle in Radićeva Street, accompanied by a ceremonial performance of the Stative Cultural and Artistic Society, setting the tone for this year's programme.

A special highlight this year is the extensive programme at Edison Cinema, where visitors throughout December can enjoy film screenings, theatre performances, promotions and meet-the-author events. Part of the programme will be free of charge, making this iconic cinema one of the focal points of Advent activities.

In addition to cultural events, visitors can take part in the interactive Digital Advent Calendar workshops, as well as numerous children's activities taking place in city institutions, at the skating rink and at the Old Town of Dubovac. Free skating near the Sokolski Dom sports complex will once again be one of the most popular winter attractions, while the youngest visitors can look forward to the traditional Children's New Year's Eve celebration at noon.

From 12 December until the end of the year, the Promenade will become the liveliest spot in the city. Visitors can expect a rich gastronomic and shopping offer from local caterers and artisans, along with the opening of the Christmas Crafts Fair. Evening entertainment will feature performances by popular artists, including Magazin, Matija Cvek, Luka Nižetić, Mladen Grdović, Natali Dizdar, Tajči, Cambi and others.

Karlovac will welcome 2026 with a concert by Maja Šuput, while the heated Dome will serve as a favourite gathering place for families, young people and anyone looking for a great festive photo and a warm holiday atmosphere.
